Dog Surfing Clinic

Surf dogs ready!

A Surfing Dog Clinic is set to take place this Sunday, March 5th at 8.00am at the Noosa Woods, which is located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and will give any potential surf dogs the chance to hit the water and get their paws wet under the guidance of Natural Balance dog trainer, Chris De Aboitiz.

The clinic is free of charge and will allow pet owners the chance to take up the challenge of getting their dog on a board all in the name of fun! There may even be an opportunity for any well performing dogs to secure a spot in the VetShopAustralia.com.au Surfing Dog Spectacular which is a main attraction of this year’s Opening Ceremony at the Noosa Festival of Surfing on the 11th of March.

Chris De Aboitiz has been hitting the waves with his surf dog Lani for years and believes it is one of the best ways to bond with your pet, encouraging all pet owners to give it a try.

"I get all my pack of dogs in the water on different occasions, especially Lani, she loves hitting the water and it's such a great way for me to really bond and have some fun with them all," he said.

"Although it may seem like an impossible task, it really is about finding the natural balance and getting your pet in a calm state of mind, after that anything is possible."

Chris has advised that people who can already surf will have the most luck at the clinic, however for anybody who wants to see their dog surf and doesn’t have the skills to match; Chris will be on hand to take them out on the board himself.

Everybody is welcome to attend and anybody who is in the area and interested should come along to the Noosa Woods just before 8:00am on Sunday, bring your dog, a surfboard and get ready to get the doggy paddling underway! The VetShopAustralia.com.au Staff are ready to give it a try and so should you!
